Temporary (mezzanine) equity
Mezzanine equity: redeemable interests that sit between liabilities and equity and are neither. The balance sheet reconciles as assets = liabilities + mezzanine + equity, so a filer holding these cannot satisfy the three-term identity without them. Aggregate concepts are preferred; the component concepts are used only where a filer reports no total.
