SequelSEC

Terms of use

What this site offers, and on what footing.

What this is

SequelSEC reads annual and quarterly reports that US public companies file with the SEC, normalizes the figures in them, and publishes them with a link from every figure back to the filing it was taken from. Using the site means accepting what follows.

Not advice, and not a record

Nothing here is investment advice, a recommendation, or an offer to buy or sell any security. No market prices, valuations or forecasts are published. The filing is the record and this site is not: where the two differ, the filing is right. The disclosures set out the specific ways a figure here can be wrong, and the methodology describes how a filing becomes a number. Read them before relying on anything.

No warranty

The site is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind, and with no commitment to availability, accuracy or fitness for any purpose. It may change, break or be withdrawn without notice. To the extent the law allows, no liability is accepted for any loss arising from using it or from being unable to.

Fair use of the service

Read it, search it, screen with it, and export a screen you have built. Please do not work around the rate limits, automate the site in a way that degrades it for other people, or extract the database wholesale. The limits exist so that one visitor cannot take the site away from everybody else.

The figures, and who owns what

The underlying facts come from public filings and from a US government system, and nobody owns a fact. What belongs to this site is the work around them: the normalization rules, the selection and naming of metrics, the checks, the wording and the software. If you publish figures taken from here, attribute them and link back — partly as courtesy, and partly so a reader can reach the filing and check.

Source

Filing data comes from the SEC’s EDGAR system and remains subject to the SEC’s own terms of use. Requests to EDGAR identify this service and respect its published access limits. This site is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or approved by the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

Changes

These terms change when the site does. Continuing to use it after a change means accepting the version then published.
